Using electrodes Electroconvulsive Therapy passes electric current through the brain to induce a seizure. It is administered under the supervision and administration of medical professionals in a hospital setting. This treatment method has been found to have low risk, and few, mild side effects such as ( confusion headache or nausea) side effects have been found to dissipate after a short time. ECT is recommended for those suffering from depression or treatment resistant depression, suicidal ideation coupled with depression or psychosis. Ketamine
Used in the treatment of depression Ketamine is administered in a hospital setting and supervised my medical doctors. The delivery of Ketamine can be performed by IV or nasal spray (Esketamine). Ketamine is a medication that interacts differently with the receptors of the brain. Through the partnership of Midland Memorial Hospital we are able to offer Ketamine through IV.
Esketamine
Is an FDA approved nasal spray prescription medicine, used along with an antidepressant taken by mouth, for treatment-resistant depression (TRD) in adults. Esketamine is a nasal spray which you use yourself, under the supervision of a psychiatrist while at the clinic.. Your psychiatrist will show you how to use the nasal spray device, and will tell you how much and when you will take it.
Suboxone
An FDA-approved treatment for heroin and other opiate addictions.
