David L. McCartney, M.D.,
Professor and Department Chair

Dr. McCartney is a board-certified ophthalmologist, received his medical degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center, San Antonio, TX. He completed his residency at the University of California and a fellowship in corneal and anterior segment surgery at Johns Hopkins Hospital, Wilmer Eye Institute of Baltimore, MD. He joined the practice in 1987 and serves as the Director of Cornea Service & Refractive Surgery and is the Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences.

Dr. Gregg is a board-certified ophthalmologist, provides comprehensive and refractive surgery services as the primary physician for the Texas Tech Eye Consultants office, with limited clinics at the Texas Tech Physicians Eye Clinic. He received his medical degree from the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine. He joined the practice in 1996 upon completion of his residency from TTUHSC Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences.

Dr. Reppa joined Texas Tech Physicians in 2017.
She attended medical school at the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio. Following her ophthalmology residency at University of North Carolina, she completed her cornea fellowship at Washington University.

Dr. Boop received his medical education at the New York Medical College, followed by his internship at Blodgett Memorial Medical Center and his residency training at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences. After residency, he completed a fellowship in cornea, external disease, anterior segment, and refractive surgery at Kresge Eye Institute of Wayne State University in Detroit. His research interests include antibiotics and moderate to severe dry eye. Dr. Boop was appointed Assistant Clinical Professor in Ophthalmology Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center in 1989.
